As sports captain of my school, I firmly believe that games build teamwork, discipline, and mental resilience — qualities equally vital as academic knowledge. Yet, physical education continues to be neglected in most schools, treated merely as a leisure period.

India has enormous sporting talent, but students who wish to pursue sports professionally lack focused institutional support. Establishing a dedicated sports university would provide specialised coaching, infrastructure, and academic integration, enabling students to excel in their chosen sport without sacrificing their future.

I urge the government to take immediate steps in this direction.
